National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) – Athletic ScholarshipsThe national Collegiate Athletic Association is the head of all Athletic Association in United States, whichbelongs to the college level sports community. This NCAA athletic association offers various athleticscholarships based on the Division levels. There are three levels in the athlete community Division I,Division II and Division III. Usually, the Division I and Division II scholarships covers entire college feewith additional expenses and Division III scholarships doesn’t covers entire college fee instead it coveraround 50-60% of the college fee in addition to that you may have chance to get some financial helps asgrants. Note: Grants are given based on the performance.In general, Division I and Division II sports are classified as two categories Headcount sports andEquivalency Sports.Headcount Sports:Football, gymnastics, tennis, volleyball are considered as a headcount sports. It has fixed number ofscholarships which covers entire college expenses from tuition to boarding fees. In some colleges, theentire scholarships are not given to the students; they may keep some amount for walk-ons.Equivalency Sports:Baseball, wrestling are considered as an equivalency sports which is moreover similar to headcountsports. This Equivalency sports are also covers the entire fees from tuition to boarding but, thisequivalency sports scholarships are awarded by the colleges and they issue this scholarships as theywant i.e., They may give 50% of scholarship to one player and 25% to other player as they wish toaward.There is a huge competition for Division I and Division II level scholarships; because nowadays the highschool athletes are also concentrating more on getting in to DI. They might aware that DI keeps free outof college finance issues. Any how you need to put some efforts to place your name in any of theDivision I, II and III in college level sports in order to get the college scholarships.
