An ode to the image
“As we move around going about our daily routine, we are unable to properly appreciate the visual
show which is offered up to us each day.” Here, viewers are invited to take the time to look, to
appreciate each image. A real ode to visual art, this itinerary incites viewers to take a different
perspective, to mix their own vision with that of the artist. Ulla Reimer transports us to her
universe, to her visual perception of these villages and what they inspire in her, what she feels, her
Itinerary of images through six villages
From 18th July 2013 to 30th September 2015, the Community of Communes of the Pays de Rhône et
Ouvèze is offering the public the chance to discover 12 outdoor artistic installations of black and
white images. The villages of Bédarrides, Caderousse, Châteauneuf-du-Pape, Courthézon,
Jonquières and Sorgues have inspired the artist Ulla Reimer, and the result of this artistic work is
presented through 2 installations in each village.
Ulla Reimer, from photography to visual art
The project provides an artistic insight into the reality of the region. Photos showing elements of the
area’s heritage, of stone, are placed alongside more industrial images, such as those of
winegrowing techniques. This is the reality of the region, and what gives it its dynamism. Far from
the “picture postcard” villages, our territory lives, moves and is part of an economic reality. At the
heart of Provence and the Châteauneuf du Pape and Côtes du Rhône appellations, it is one of the
South of France’s leading wine tourism destinations. An array of activities is offered to visitors who
wish to discover our wines: tastings, winery tours, food and wine pairing, tours of the vineyard on
foot, on bike.
