Whitewood History and Progress Preservation Fundraiser
Preservation contractors, Chris and Angela Chiller, are inviting the community to attend
the fundraiser to save a historic and artistic building in the business district of
Whitewood, S.D. Oct. 22, 2009– The local preservation contractors, Chris and Angela
Chiller, are inviting the community to participate the Whitewood History and Progress
Preservation Fundraiser at 5 p.m. on Oct. 24, 2009. There will be live music from local
bands, gourmet food from Whitewood’s very own, Howdy’s, and an open bar during the
fundraiser. Local artists are more than welcomed to donate their artworks for auctions.
The fundraiser will take place in one of the restored building, Golden Wheel Dance Hall,
on Meade Street, Whitewood, S.D. All donations will help restoring the historic
sandstone building sooner.
There are three historical buildings that are made out of sandstones in the business district
of Whitewood. Two of the three buildings have been preserved and restored to its
original names. Chris and Angela Chillers, members of the city government and
residents of Whitewood, would like to invite the community and local artists to do an art
show, an auction, at the fundraiser to help and restore the last building in the district.
According Angela Chiller, “It’s a nice building with great historic and artistic value, and
we hate to see them tearing it apart.”
Local artists are encouraged to participate this event for both showing and selling their
artwork. The communities are invited to attend this great event to help preserving the
building or just to have fun.
Chris and Angela Chiller has been a preservation contractor of the government for years.
They have been living in Whitewood, S.D. for two years.
