100 years passingA long shot of a town square with a fountain,having the people rushing around in old clothes,traveling on old transport, old looking stalls, astime quickly flashes the clothes keep changing,horses change to cars, stalls become supermarkets, the cobbles on the road turn to tar andthe pavements crack and are replaced. and allthat remains of the old days is the fountain in thetown square.
4 ShotsThe town square is quiet, birds eye view, not muchmovement, the fountain has orange leafs in it,the next shot is a long shot, the square has a hugedecorated tree over it, lots of people rushing by. Snowis fallingNext shot is a close shot of people hiding undershelter from rain, threes have blossoms growing onthem.The next shot is a ending shot the trees are full ofgreen, lots of people walking around, in flowing brightclothes. The fountain water glows and the shot fadesaway on the founten water.

A dreamTo make it clear the scene would be introducedby a wavy transition, and non-diegetic harpmusic. Then the dream scene would have a white cloudlike border around it, and the characters voiceswould echo.
Flash backA bright Flash would happen, showing the flashback in a tilted color. The flash would also have anon-diegetic noise to accompany it that soundslike “vim-rump”

How does the person providing the voiceover alter our viewpoint orresponse to the events of the film?It gives the audience a different perspective.They usually inform us of the story, make thenarrative understandable and clarifies points inthe film. Therefore they help the audience stayinformed, and assist them in understanding acharacter or plot point.

Films that do not follow this structure Alfred Hitchcocks The Birds - The film starts off with peace, then suddenly the birds start attacking, and we get the disruption to the plot, however the film then takes a interesting turn, as the ending has no resolution to the disruption, the birds are still (unexplained) still attacking, the characters drive away but we never know weather or not they survive.
