  • 1. For Immediate Release 22 May, 2012 Belgrade in TOP 50 destinations in the World! Serbia’s capital, Belgrade, now ranks 26th among the approximately 200 convention destinations listed for Europe with 46 international congresses in 2011, having 13 more events than in the previous year. From the broader perspective, Belgrade has been listed among TOP 50 meeting destinations in the world! (Source: ICCA Country and City Rankings Report 2011)Serbia Convention Bureau The fact that Belgrade is becoming progressively more and more attractive for international meetings can be illustrated by the fact that launching of this press release actually coincides with the Heart Failure 2012, a huge congress organized by the Heart Failure Association of the European Society of Cardiology, taking place in Belgrade from 19-22 May. This Congress ( gathers as many as 4,000 participants – leading specialists in this field from Europe, maximizing Belgrade’s meeting and accommodation capacities. It is one of many that have been booked in Belgrade through 2016. Serbia Convention Bureau (SCB) has been widely promoting Serbia destination using digital and social media tools. At the ICCA Congress held in Leipzig, Germany, the presentation of “Serbia Destination” mobile application was highly acknowledged, while Serbia has been recognized as a leader in applying the latest IT in the destination promotion. Serbia Destination mobile app received a prestigious award at the National E-Business conference. In addition, Milos Milovanovic, SCB CEO, was presented the Meeting Star Award at the Conventa Meeting Industry Fair, held in January 2012, for implementation of specific marketing strategy for Serbia destination. The app can be downloaded from the Android market and IStore (search for “Serbia Destination”). Promotion of Serbia as an attractive MICE destination does not stop here; the SCB team has gone an extra mile and just launched two Facebook games aimed at marketing Serbia through a fun way. One is Tour de Serbie, the adrenalin game in which the player races through different Serbia’s destinations, using various means of transportation. The other is Make an Event in Serbia, a logic game in which the player needs to organize an event choosing the right venue, accommodation, a restaurant for the gala dinner and the activities. All this needs to be done within the limits of the allocated budget and observing the delegate satisfaction factor. There will be monthly awards, while for the most successful players on annual level the SCB will organize a fam trip to Serbia.
