Donchenko Natalia was born in Moscow in 1932. The Natalia’s
family lived in poverty, she didn’t play with toys, and the children of
the war, the same as Natasha, all the free time spent in the courts.
They skied and skated.
One day a young woman came and invited to join the skating
section. Natalia Donchenko took part in her 1st competition in
1945. She became a member of the USSR national team at 18.
Natalia Sergeevna met with her husband Felix in the camp in
Sverdlovsk in 1956. He is also a skater.
After their wedding the son Eugene was born in 1957. But in January
next year Natalia skated again.
In 1959 Natalia Donchenko was the 5th in the USSR championship. It
was a guarantee of her future success!
In December 1959, 30 people were selected for training for the
national team of the Union. Natalia Donchenko was among them.
However, she took the 2nd place, losing to a German woman. But
Natalia didn’t upset, she rather felt proud of our country.
Natalia Donchenko and Felix Dolenko are still skating. They are
skating on the stadium “Trud” and aren’t going to stop. It is
important that Natalia Sergeevna is a sevenfold champion of
Russia among veterans. She became a champion at 75 years.
