The Pear Tree at Purton Wiltshire
A taste of honey
Try some of our home-made honey this summer. It’s
from one of four hives at the end ofThe PearTree’s 7.5
acre gardens, each home to 50,000 bees. The hives are
part of the ‘natural area’ of the hotel’s gardens, which
also includes a wildflower meadow and vineyard.
Thanks to the lack of arable farming and its associated
pesticides nearby, the honey has a really natural taste
that’s reminiscent of the honey you used to have at
your grandmother’s.There’s also a hint of lime which
comes from the lime tree just next to the hives.
We serve the honey at breakfast and occasionally as part
of a dish on our new a la carte lunch and dinner menus.
