Press release: Tennessee Chapter of HFMADate: Thursday, April 19, 2012Neil Koonce Receives the 2012 Frederick C. Morgan IndividualAchievement Award Neil Koonce, President of Healthcare Receivables Group,has been unanimously selected to receive the 2012 Frederick C. Morgan IndividualAchievement Award. The Morgan Award is designed to recognize a single HFMAvolunteer member for outstanding contributions to the Healthcare FinancialManagement Association as a result of substantial activity over the course of a career.Neil has been an HFMA member since 1985 and served as the President of theTennessee Chapter for 1998-1999. He has received the Follmer Bronze Merit Award,the Reeves Silver Merit Award, the Muncie Gold Merit Award and the Medal of Honor.Neil also received the Tennessee Chapter’s Ira M. Lane award for sustained chapterservice and the Tennessee Chapter’s C. Henry Hottum Award for significantcontributions to the field of healthcare accounting and business office practices.Beyond the Tennessee Chapter, Neil is a past Regional Executive for Region 5(Alabama, Florida, Georgia, South Carolina, and Tennessee Chapters) and served onthe National Associations Chapter Services Council. He has been a Helen M. YergerAward Judge and served as a member of the Task Force on Governance, Organization,and Structure for National HFMA. Neil was appointed to two three-year terms as aChapter Advancement Team (C.A.T.) member and served as the Chair of the ChapterAdvancement Team for 2005-2006. As a C.A.T. member, Neil worked with HFMA’s 70chapters in the U.S. providing leadership development, training, and strategic planning.With over 35,000 members, HFMA is the nations leading membership organization ofhealthcare finance executives and leaders.
