Time and time again, Nancy Alcorn watched as the young women she worked with at the juvenile facility passed the age of eighteen and ended up in the women's prison system because they never got the real help they needed.

Nancy Alcorn Gets Support From Former Tennessee Titans Coach, Jeff Fisher Nancy Alcorn is an avid sports fan and Titans supporter and in 2001, Nancy Alcorn was honored to speak about Mercy Ministries at a Titans family chapel service. Since that time, Coach Jeff Fisher has been a great personal friend of Mercy Founder and President, Nancy Alcorn. Nashville’s NBC affiliate, WSMV, recently interviewed Nancy Alcorn about Coach Fisher’s decision to end his run with the Tennessee Titans football franchise. “He deserves a rest. He works harder than just about anybody I know,” said Nancy Alcorn.Coach Fisher and his family are longtime supporters of Mercy Ministries and Nancy Alcorn; personallydonating to Mercy each time the Titans brought home a victory. Another highlight Nancy Alcorn enjoysevery year is the annual “Jeff Fisher & Friends” Charity Softball Game. For the past 10 years, this eventhas raised funds for Mercy Ministries as well as several other local charities and Nancy Alcorn lovesattending the game with the residents as they cheer for their favorite players.The Mercy residents don’t watch a lot of television, but cheering for the Tennessee Titans football teamhas always been a favorite activity for Nancy Alcorn and the Mercy Ministries residents and staff. In fact,the break room at Mercy Ministries’ corporate office is dedicated to the Titans years of success underHead Coach Jeff Fisher. They were joined by former NBA player, Steve Stipanovich and his wife Terri, whoare faithful supporters of Nancy Alcorn and Mercy Ministries through the “Sponsor a Girl” program.At the luncheon, Nancy Alcorn spoke about her motivation behind the vision for Mercy Ministries.Nancy Alcorn spoke about the struggles and frustration she encountered during her time serving in acorrectional facility for young girls because she was not allowed to share her faith. Nancy Alcorn sharedher heart for these young women and others who need to know there is a God who loves themunconditionally and can give them freedom from life-controlling issues.After leading a standing ovation for Nancy Alcorn and the Mercy graduates present, Titans coach JeffFisher shared that while the pressure of coaching in the NFL is huge, it is nothing compared to the lifeand death issues faced by the young women Nancy Alcorn encounters at Mercy Ministries. He shared his thoughts on what it means to be an everydayhero, pointing out the Mercy girls, staff, and Nancy Alcorn as examples. He encouraged guests to beeveryday heroes by supporting Nancy Alcorn’s vision at Mercy Ministries.It was an unforgettable day for all who attended the luncheon and Nancy Alcorn was so honored to havethe support of her dear friends.
