Roles & responsibilities:-
Developing different concepts for a single product and lists out the risk factors for each
concepts and its mitigation plan. And gets the approval for any of the concept from DRB.
Thermal hand calculations are done to checking thermal feasibility
Fan selection based on the CFM and impedance curve from ansys icepak.
Preparation of thermal analysis document and gets approval from DRB.
For EMI/EMC requirements, the gasket selection, groove design and honeycomb selection
Checking the feasibility for cable routing by using Pro-Cabling.
Optimizing the design for manufacturability, design for Assembly and cost effective.
Preparation of overall BOM with the vendor list and enter them in E-chain (ERP) for
initiating the procurement.
Preparation of Detailed 2D Drawings for fabrication and assembly (MAI) by using
Creo parametric, AutoCAD 2010.
Verification of CAD drawings and releasing them for Fabrication.
Follow-up with the vendors during fabrication and provide Assembly support.

PROJECT DESCRIPTION: PAR-Precision Approach Radar-Azimuth antenna
Role: Product Design engineer Duration: Sep 2014 to Till Date,

The PAR-precision approach radar is used for providing guidance to various aircraft in
runway, for the approach and landing. The radar utilizes an electronic Beam of both in the azimuth
and elevation level to guide the landing of aircraft
Azimuth antenna is used for identify the directional characteristics of aircraft. It consists of
radome, Antenna, TR module and power supply and other Electronic systems. Liquid cooling used
for Cooling of TR modules and Cold plates are used for liquid cooling. The system is fully IP rated
with water sealing. Three rear doors are provided for accessibility of internal modules and TR
modules. System is very rigidly designed based on structural analysis to withstand wind load in the

Customer: CABS, Bangalore.
IFF (Identification Friend or Foe) Transponder is used to identify and track military aircraft.
If the transponder receives the proper electronic code from an interrogator, it automatically
transmits the requested identification back to the interrogating radar where friendly aircraft would
respond to secret preprogrammed interrogation codes and indicate to the radar operators that they
were friendly aircraft. if it is not properly respond from requested mode it is considered as a
target(foe). Different types of mode of operations performed in in transponder like altitude
measurement and type of aircraft.
It consists of four modules including power supply and all the modules mounted inside the
system by card guide arrangement. Natural convection used for cooling of unit. And other
parameters like EMI/EMC, Thermal, vibrations, sub system mounting are taken care.
PROJECT DESCRIPTION: 12U CPCI SYSTEM

12u cPCI system is 19 inch rack mountable unit. It is highly configured industrial computer.
cPCI Systems are widely installed throughout the world and are used for a wide variety of Telecoms,
Mobile Data Communications, industrial, commercial, aerospace, instrumentation, data acquisition,
communications and Military applications.
This 12u cPCI system consists of 21 slot 6U cPCI boards and the all boards are connected to the
single back plane. Due to High dissipation of heat from cPCI boards, Fans are used for cooling
purpose. Fans are selected based on thermal analysis in Ansys icepack. In this 12u cPCI system
Accessible doors are provided for accessing cPCI boards in front side and backplane in the rear side
And other parameters like Aesthetics, ergonomics, thermal analysis, Boards
