  • 1. The Najmon’s He is not here; he has risen, just as he said. Come and see the place where he lay. Matthew 28:6 April 2014 Praises: • Sufficient finances to attend language school • Continual increase in financial support • Opportunities to share about the need in Italy Prayer Requests: • Reaching our full monthly budget • Enrollment in language school and visa process to go smoothly • Preparing for an overseas move We write this newsletter filled with excitement. We would like to let you know that we will be able to attend language school this fall! We have had the funding come in to allow us to go to Italy for the year of language school. We will still return to the states after our year and continue support raising until we reach our monthly budget that is needed for a more permanent move. We are so thankful for everyone’s support and help to get us to this point! This now means that we get to start focusing on a lot of “fun” things now. We have been researching all that we need to do for the move this fall. But, we have had to wait on actually moving forward with the process until we could actually go. What lies ahead of us now is a lot of paperwork. The bright side is that I, Megan, actually enjoy paperwork! Our next step is to enroll in the language school officially. Then we will start the process of applying for our visa. If all goes well, they said it should only be a matter of weeks to see if we are granted our visas. The language program will start the first Monday in September which will be September 1st this year. We will be sure to keep you updated on our travel itinerary. Our plan currently is to leave towards the end of August so that we will have time to adjust to jet lag, get settled in an apartment, and hopefully find our way to and from the school before classes start! We would really appreciate your prayers in this time. Prayers for the enrollment process at the language school, the visa process, and for the transition for ourselves and for our families as we prepare for this first year overseas. We are so excited to be officially moving forward with language school and we want to thank you all for your many prayers for Ross and I. We are so blessed and extremely grateful for your love and support! One main value of Italian culture is family. We often say Olive Garden’s motto is spot on with “when you’re here, you’re family”. It is one of the neat ways to witness to the Italian culture. When we visited Italy, they were shocked that we would even consider moving such a distance from our families. Our hope is that though we love our families and it will be hard to be so far apart, it will be a testimony of how much we believe in our God, how much we want to let him lead our lives, how much serving him outweighs any other thing in this life. We do hope it will be a way to start sharing about Christ with Italians, but with this being said we would love your prayers. I know that this will be a hard transition for our families, and it is difficult to think that we will not have our families with us in a culture that values family so highly. It is difficult to think that we might not get to share many memories the way we now do. We are excited for the calling God has placed on our hearts and to be preparing to go, but we ask for your prayers for us and our families as we make our move to Italy. Thank you for being our prayer warriors! Family Travel Plans

If we are in your area we would love to plan a time to see you! One of my favorite songs is It Is Well With My Soul. I find it is such a fitting song for the Easter season. The peace that Christ brings us when we are His is indescribable. There is a joy that we cannot deny. In this Easter season, we cannot help but reflect on the fact that Christ died for us, He is coming again, and His forgiveness is free to all who believe. As I reflect on the reason for the season and the words to It Is Well With My Soul, my heart breaks for those that do not know Him, those who do not have the peace and forgiveness that He offers. The thought that it is not well with all is a saddening thought. But, it is exciting to be used to show His love and to be there when someone grasps the need for Christ in their life. We are truly blessed when we know our savior and when He allows us to be used by Him to declare His name to the lost. May you be blessed in this Easter season with the peace and joy that we receive through the gift of the Son. May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in Him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit. Romans 15:13 Happy Easter! It Is Well With My Soul. When peace, like a river, attendeth my way, When sorrows like sea billows roll; Whatever my lot, Thou has taught me to say, It is well, it is well, with my soul. It is well, with my soul, It is well, it is well, with my soul. Though Satan should buffet, though trials should come, Let this blest assurance control, That Christ has regarded my helpless estate, And hath shed His own blood for my soul. My sin, oh, the bliss of this glorious thought! My sin, not in part but the whole, Is nailed to the cross, and I bear it no more, Praise the Lord, praise the Lord, O my soul! And Lord, haste the day when the faith shall be sight, The clouds be rolled back as a scroll; The trump shall resound, and the Lord shall descend, Even so, it is well with my soul.
