Essential Summer Pool Maintenance Tips
There is nothing like the beginning of summer, right before school lets out, when the weather is
nice enough to pull the cover off your pool. With the summer weather in full swing, your pool
can end up being your best way to cool off. Whether you have a salt water system pool or
freshwater, there are several pool maintenance things to keep up on and there are several pool
professionals that can help you out.
Pool Maintenance Tips
Now, if you still want to do all your own pool cleaning, here are some key things to remember:
Skim it! Upon opening your pool for the summer, the first thing you should do is clear out all
the junk that got caught under there. Any leaves, sticks, or other debris can become damaging
and end up costing you much more than you originally thought. It is recommended that you
get in the habit of skimming your pool every other day. If that doesn't sound like something
you would want to do, then look into calling some pool guys
After you get into the routine of cleaning your pool every day, don't forget to clean the
skimmer basket. After an entire season of use, it has most likely collected debris that become
damaging to your pool filters.
When was the last time you cleaned your ladder? Yes, your ladder can bring debris into your
pool if it has been sitting outside all winter, but it is also just nice for it to be clean. If it
collected a stain during the winter, just give it a good power wash then the chlorine should
take off any excess.
A highly suggested tip is at some point during the swimming season, hire some pool guys
that will clean the inside lining of your pool. After a few months, debris, suntan lotion, and
animals (if you're lucky) can cause harm to the filters and inner lining.
With those tips in mind, any pool should stay perfect throughout the summer.
