“Basetrack” live plays at Lied Center of Kansas
“Basetrack,” the multimedia production about the realities of war, will play at the
Lied Center of Kansas at 7:30 p.m. on Oct. 15, 2014
The live production is based on the project that embedded journalists in a
battalion in Afghanistan in hopes of bringing real life war experiences to the public. The
producers of Basetrack found this cause important simply because some Americans will
not experience anything like the Afghanistan war on their own.
“In the current decade, more American soldiers have returned home from war
than we have seen in a generation and… less than 1% of the population shares the
experience of serving in the military,” the “Basetrack” website said.
While actors play out the process and details of recruitment, conflict, and
returning home, real life testimonies from soldiers in Afghanistan play on a big screen.
The mixture of the two serves to give the audience a full understanding of the lifestyle of

Center website. Adult tickets (18 and up) are $20-$30, and student/youth tickets (under
18) can be purchased for $11-$16.
