HOW TO PROVIDE RELIEF FOR FIBROMYALGIA Fibromyalgia is a lingering condition which causes you joint and muscle pain, stiffness, headaches, fatigue and sensitivity to touch. The cause and cure of fibromyalgia have not been defined yet but there are certain ways which you can do to avoid it and relieve when it occurs. Your diet is one of the important parts in controlling fibromyalgia. There are a number of foods which may worsen or improve your symptoms.Below are the different types of foods which may help you manage your fibromyalgia: • Carbohydrates such as whole wheat breads, legumes, beans, whole-grain cereals and brown rice help in building blocks for developing healthy bones, muscles, organs and tissue cells. They also provide you energy to fight fatigue and lack of sleep which are all related to fibromyalgia. • Red meat, fish, poultry, egg and dairy products may cause you more pain, stiffness in your joints and weariness. These foods have a lot of saturated fats which may make your muscles and connective tissues inflamed thus restricting the circulation of your blood, adding to exhaustion and robbing your muscles and organs of the important nutrients. • Lean proteins are also sources of energy. They help repair your muscle and organ tissues thereby relieving you from the pain cause by fibromyalgia. Examples of lean proteins are black beans, lentils, tofu, hazelnuts and a meat substitute called tempeh. • Refined sugars in foods such as cakes, pies, candies, doughnuts and even ice cream may worsen the symptoms of fibromyalgia because it causes restlessness at nights and weakness. Refined sugar may likewise weaken your immune system. When your immune system is weak you are prone to bacterial and viral infections and these may make you suffer from joint and muscle pain. • Eliminate monosodium glutamate and other food additive from your meals since these cause pain, fatigue and brain fog. Do not eat nightshade vegetables such as tomatoes, peppers, paprika, eggplant and white potatoes.
• Milk and Honey. You may want to try drinking milk with honey before hitting the sack. Milk quickens the release of tryptophan in your brain whereas honey is high in potassium and they stimulate your body to easily rest and sleep. • Apple Cider Vinegar (ACV). Add 1 to 2 tbsp. of apple cider vinegar to your 8 oz. of drinking water in order to provide alkaline in your body. ACV has the capability to neutralize acids in your body. Drink at least one glass each day. Here is a list of the different therapies to help you relieve pain: Exercise. I know this can be quite a hard for some. I myself hated going to the gym to exercise. There has been a study which shows strong evidence that homeopathic remedy rhus tox can lessen the pain, swelling, stiffness and inflammation related to fibromyalgia. Consult with a qualified homeopath before doing anything. As mentioned earlier, there are no definite cures for fibromyalgia but there are some ways whichare found to help ease the symptoms.
