The Merlion itself is a solid. The
water its spitting out is a liquid.
The surrounding air is gas.
The particles in the solid is arranged in an orderly manner
and they are packed closely. They cannot move about from
their fixed position and can only vibrate and rotate about.
The particles in the liquid is closely packed in random
order. They can move freely within the particles and it is able
to vibrate and slide over one another.
The particles in gas can move freely and rapidly in any
direction. They are spaced far apart.
