1. What is Pride?1. Pride is one of the arrogance for protecting our inner weakness and appearing stronger than the reality.2. If we have high pride, we will be nervous and our speech and action will be arrogant.3. And we will also suffer from jealousy whenever we meet superior people. This is really the hell of comparison and never brings us the peace of mind.2012/6/24 Tsuchiyama. Copyright © 2012, Hitoshi Tsuchiyama. All rights reserved. 3
2. Sources of Pride1. High pride arises from too much competitive feelings. Arrogant people can’t be satisfied without being always superior to other people.2. They will be frustrated if they don’t recognize their own value, comparing with other people. Because high pride people believe that they should be exceptional and special.3. They are too much conscious of the other peoples eyes on them. Because high pride people are lacking self-confidence and inner strength.2012/6/24 Tsuchiyama. Copyright © 2012, Hitoshi Tsuchiyama. 3. How to eliminate Pride1. High pride people have to stop the comparison with other people. Instead, they should concentrate on their improvements from their past.2. They should recognize that they are exactly the same human beings as other people physically and mentally. And they must practice infinite compassion to others just like they love them.3. If they once master self-confidence and inner strength through compassion, they don’t have to clad themselves in armor called pride.2012/6/24 Tsuchiyama. Copyright © 2012, Hitoshi Tsuchiyama.
