• A snail can use it’s shell to protectTheir slimy it’s body from drying up in hotappearance climates. • A snails body is also soft. • Not all snails have the same kind of shell. Some are round and some are pointed. • A snail has a belly and a foot. They are sometimes called “belly footed animals’’. • Snails have two sets of tentacles on their head. They use one set to see and the other one to smell. • Some snails can be as big as a foot.
Where you can find the slow creature• Snails live in cool and moist places, for example the sea, ponds and gardens.• Snails can also live in the desert though they spend most of their time in their shell.• Snails may live anywhere since they carry their home on their back.• Some people even keep snails as pets.
What the slimy bugs digest•Snails eat different kinds of plants. It doesn’t matter if the plant is dead or alive.•Snails also eat the plant leaves, fruit and flower petals off of any harmless plant.•What snails eat also depends on where they live•Snails may also eat other snails, but it rarely happens.•Snails could also eat farmer’s crops, and can be a lot of trouble.
Who eat them• They may be eaten by frogs, toads, snakes and a variety of different birds.• Rats large beetles and ducks also eat them.• Some birds break open their shells on rocks and then eat the helpless body inside.• In many areas domestic pets can also be predators to them.• We even eat them!
