Bumiputera ICT Companies to be listed in first-time directory
All Bumiputera companies involved in the rapidly-developing ICT industry will be listed in the first
edition of the Bumiputera Technology & Multimedia Directory 2010/2011, to be launched in late
MSC Malaysia and the Malaysian Association of Bumiputera ICT industry and Entrepreneurs (NEF)
are now calling for all Bumiputera companies in multimedia, technology and ICT to register their
companies for inclusion in the directory.
The directory will include companies in software development, games, mobile content, web
content, e-commerce and other related fields. Registration is free and can be done online at
The Directory will be launched towards the end May and made available online, in hardcopy and
in CD format. The hard copy version of the directory will also be distributed to all Malaysian
Government ministries as well as agencies such as MIDA, SME Corp, and others.
The directory will add value to the expanding Bumiputera ICT community, said Roslan Bakri,
MDeC’s Director of Technopreneur & Enterprise Development. “It is also part of a larger effort by
MSC Malaysia and NEF to fertilise the growth of Bumiputera Technopreneurs, which is in line with
the Prime Minister’s vision of the New Economic Model,” he added.
NEF President, Ashran Ghazi noted that the directory was a “great start” as there was currently no
such listing of Bumiputera technopreneurs.
In keeping with the objectives of Vision 2020 and the soon-to-be-announced 10th Malaysian Plan,
the directory will foster stronger links and encourage better connections between Malaysian SMEs
and their overseas counterparts.
NEF is also embarking on several projects and activities to further promote Bumiputera ICT
technopreneurs and companies. For more information, please check www.nef.org.my.
