President Obama has brought change…
Dr. Michael J. O’Connell, PainCare, New Hampshire commented that the claim President
Obama has brought change is certainly something with which I can agree.
♦ He has approved massively increased drone strikes, some of them killing US citizens
abroad and many killing innocent victims. That's change.
♦ He has brought us ACA, wherein for the first time in history he has forced Americans to
provide or buy health insurance or pay a fine, and with increased dependency on
entitlement rolls for Medicaid. That's change.
♦ He has spun the Libyan Embassy attack; tried his darnedest to paper over the real motives
behind the "post attack PR efforts" in the interest of being re elected...that's change.
♦ He has continued surveillance of our allies around the world through the efforts of the
GSA, and dramatically enhanced invasion of our personal privacy through internet
spying. This is change.
♦ He has brought ‘selfies’ to the forefront...now there’s something important and very
Presidential, and again...a change.
Unlike many in his party, I cannot attribute the economic recovery to Obama. Due partly to a
Congress which cannot agree, and a President who cannot lead (he refuses to stop attacking the
folks on the other side of the aisle) no assistance has come from the Feds on the economy.
Instead, the economy has improved on its own, privately. The pendulum has simply swung. The
shift of manufacturing overseas in now shifting back, not due to Obama, but due to the escalating
prices and transportation costs of goods manufactured overseas.
The development of cleaner energy (natural gas) has everything to do with private enterprise and
nothing to do with Obama. The use of robotics has lessened the cost of US manufacturing and
stimulated the development and manufacturing of these increasingly hi-tech devices. Again...not
attributable to Obama.
But change? Yes. He lived up to that campaign promise.
