‘IGMA’ FINALCONFERENCE WAS HELD ON THE 13THDECEMBER IN UPPSALA, SWEDEN
‘IGMA’- European Integration Agent final conference was held on the 13th of December in Uppsala,
Sweden. The conference was intended to present the developed methodology, proclaim the
project’s results and honor project’s completion.
‘IGMA’-project was dedicated to developing methodology for effective guidance of low-skilled
immigrants into formal/non-formal/informal adult education through coordinated measures
provided by a network of relevant stakeholders. The guidance has been built on needs/capabilities of
individuals with focus on further entrance to labour market.
The conference started with an opening from the rector of
Folkuniversitetet Uppsala, Gunnar Danielsson, followed by
presentations from 6 different Keynote Speakers including
Director of Education from Swedish National Agency for
Education, partners from Netherlands, Greece, and Luleå.During
the the second part of the conference attendees had a chance to feel the ‘taste’ of the methodology
in practice at a hands-on workshop from two different moderators.
“I'd say IGMA is among the most successful projects of our department. Despite all the energy and
time we invested in it, all our efforts have been paid. I'm endlessly grateful to everyone who
participated in the project, without you IGMA wouldn't turn out to be the way it is!”, - says
YevgeniyaAverhed, the project manager of IGMA and deputy director of the Department for
International Cooperation of Folkuniversitetet.
Anna Toropova, the External evaluator of the project, noted: "… the project has this 'special IGMA
spirit'. The partners proved their hearts and souls, truly lived the project".
"European Integration Agent" – Innovative Guidance Methodology for Integration of Low-skilled
Immigrants into Adult Education and Labour Market” is a Grundtvig Multilateral Project, launched on
the 1st of December 2011. The overall objective of the project is to improve accessibility to adult
education for low-skilled immigrants in order to help them enter labour market and become more
active members of society.
