A video demo of the Mockingbird T800 guitar, inspired by the music video for the Guns N’ Roses
song ‘You Could Be Mine’ from the Terminator 2 soundtrack, and featuring a Terminator head with
ultra-bright red LED eyes sculpted onto an original B.C. Rich Mockingbird guitar was released this
weekend and has been doing the rounds on Facebook.
The tagline on the guitar promotions is: New from the Devil & Sons workshop a customised guitar
that could change our lives forever - The future is in YOUR hands.
About Devil & Sons Guitars:
Devil & Sons, a London based one-man business, was set up in 2014 by artist and musician Daniel
Wallis whose journey in search of the coolest and most unique guitars to play live took him away
from making art that hangs on gallery walls, to art that you can play. Some instruments, such as the
SEGAcaster, use upcycled games consoles whilst others, like the Rebel Bass series, bring to life the
iconic internet meme ‘We have found the hidden rebel bass’ by using original Tonka Millennium
Artwork or instrument?
Daniel says about the sculpting process involved in creating works such as the Xenomorph I and the
“The hand painted additions on the guitar bodies are a mashup of hacked and customised vinyl
or resin model kits and hand sculpted parts that make these instruments bespoke creations, a
lot like a mix between the sculptures I made after leaving Central Saint Martins College of Art
and the Warhammer model miniatures I painted as a teenager. Over 100 hours of work go into
each of the one-off pieces which will go on to find homes where they can equally be displayed as
artworks or played as instruments.”
2016, the 25th
birthday of an iconic Hedgehog and new movie releases:
2016 is an exciting year for Devil & Sons; not only is it Sonic the Hedgehog’s 25th
therefore the perfect time to launch the SEGAcaster guitar, but we also have a number of new
designs in early stages ready to coincide with various sci-fi and action franchise film releases.
Although these instruments are being kept under wraps for now, Daniel does want to point out one
fact about Devil & Sons – “We ain’t afraid of no ghost!”
