Another popular variety is sun-dried tomatoes in oil,which is packed with spices and oil to give them flavor, moisture, and allow them to bestored for longer periods. This variety can be easily and instantly added to pastas to make aquick meal.When buying sun-dried tomatoes, look for a rich red color. Read the label to see whichspices are packed in with the tomatoes and choose one that you prefer. Some commonspices and herbs used to pack sun-dried tomatoes include basil, oregano, and thyme.Tomatoes packed in olive oil flavors the liquid and give it a red tinge, which make it a tastyaddition to pasta and salads.Once it is opened, sun-dried tomatoes and semi-dried tomatoes can be stored in therefrigerator, but should be consumed no later than two weeks.
